Making Healthy Foods Kids Will Eat

Kids can be notoriously picky when it comes to eating. Some days they will eat certain foods and other days they say they don’t like it! So making sure they are eating enough healthy food is not that easy for the parent. But of course they know that they have to keep trying because nutrition is hugely important for a growing child. Making healthy foods that kids will eat is the answer and we’ll give you some tips below.
The first thing you can do is to make their normal foods but just make them healthier without letting them know you are changing anything. Otherwise they will complain and want their normal foods. Let’s explain in more detail:

Let’s say they like to eat spaghetti and meatballs. Instead of using normal white spaghetti, use a whole wheat variety instead. Add a small amount of garlic to the dish as it has some great qualities to help the body. For the meatballs you can use hormone free ones which are healthier to the body.

They probably like pizza right? Well when choosing your pizza, choose one with a thin crust as that contains less carbohydrates. Add some extra vegetables on to the pizza such as olives and mushrooms. Also cut the slices so that they are smaller and it makes the meal look larger to them. This cuts down the portion size without them realising it. You can also blend some vegetables into the tomato sauce base and they won’t even know they are in there.

So you don’t necessarily have to find new healthy foods kids will eat, you just have to look at what they are eating now and make it healthy without telling them. This way they won’t even know the difference but you can feel safe in the knowledge they are getting some healthy nutrients each day.
