Several schools offer first aid training consisting of a range of modules. The Modules: First aid certification requires the completion of a series of modules. At the end of each modules children will demonstrate their awareness of the content by participating in group scenarios requiring them to act out how they would adapt to certain situations. Modules change depending on the age of the child. Younger students in primary school are taught more simple methods of first aid such as basic injury management and how to call triple zero. Older students are taught more advanced practices such as environmental control and CPR.

The course is divided up into three parts depending on age course one is aimed at kindergarten to year 2 and involves simple training such as looking for danger, staying safe, checking for response and recognising an ambulance officer. This early module is intended to be fun and prevent children making simple mistakes that could be dangerous.
The primary school course is aimed at children from year 3 to 7. Primary students learn the principles of first aid, managing someone in a state of unconsciousness, burn treatment, external bleeding management and placing someone in the recovery position.

The high school course involves students in the 8th to 12th grade. All of the previous modules are covered with the addition of clearing airways and CPR.  The course for high school students is a good springboard into a senior first aid course.

All of the courses are heavily interactive and sure to delight your child. At the end of a first aid session your child will be well equipped to deal with any emergency situation that will present itself. First aid training encourages children to take charge of situations where someone is hurt and to call for help and respond appropriately.
