The rate of heart attacks and strokes have increased among people aged less than 65 years in the past few years. The amazing fact is that, these heart attacks could be prevented. According to survey in 2010 on the whole the rate of preventable deaths from heart disease and stroke reduced by 30%.The increase in the rate of heart attacks can be explained because of lack of screening among patients, and early findings of blood pressure and high cholesterol among people under 65.

The death rate of adults (65-74 years) were the highest in 2010.However preventable heart attacks have declined between 65-74 years compared to people under 65.

Preventable heart attacks were seen to be more in males compared to females. Black has the highest risk.


Location

Preventable deaths were highest in the state of Colombia which was followed by Minnesota. The other parts were Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Appalachian region. The lowest rates were in Midwest, West and north east.How to prevent heart attacks?
